International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience
commonly referred to as IAESTE is an international organization exchanging students
for technical work experience oad. Students gain relevant technical training lasting
from 4 weeks to 18 months. IAESTE includes committees representing more than 80
countries, with the potential of accepting new countries into the organization every
year. IAESTEs aims are to connect students with employers in foreign countries,
provide university students with technical experience and culturally enrich students
and their host communities.
IAESTE in Iran is represented by its local office in Tehran. After a few year of
being inactive, the activities of this office resumed as of 2013. All incoming student
visits are sponsored by this office (including visa and accommodation), and member
universities/companies in Iran are in charge of the technical training. On the other
side, Iran can send its nationals for training to other countries where the IAESTE
office on the host country is mutually in charge of visa/accommodating for the intern.
In both cases, the intern is responsible for international travel expenses.
The number of students each country can send is roughly the same as the number of
students it accepts from abroad. IAESTE Iran is also in charge of selecting Iranian
interns to visit the host countries. For more information please visit www.iaeste.ir.
Please see a video summarizing on-the-side activities of class 2017 incoming IAESTE
students in Iran.
